Rules of Ethics

Well, the John Roberts nomination hearing looks to be quit entertaining. Just about every Republican on the Judiciary committee told Roberts it would go against "rules of ethics" for him to answer any questions on how he would vote on specific issues. And most of the Democrats acknowledged they would ask very tough questions and his refusal to answer would result in a "no" vote. Senator Grassley reminded us that there "were no Supreme Court nominee hearings till 1925", and one time, in the Kennedy Administration, a justice was asked only 8 questions in a hearing that took 15 minutes. He blamed the internet and BLOGS for it not being that way today. Well that's too bad Senator Grassley...what a putz! Roberts himself gave a short bla bla speech assuring all he was fair. Excuse us if we don't take your word on that judge.

I'm glad someone else is concerned about these hearings. I mean, the guy could conceivably serve for another 30 years in this position!

I just hope he is faced with some hard questions by the Dems...time for some spine!
